Full Description

This new course will be first of all a historical examination of the establishment of French colonies in North and South America, Asia and Africa from the 16th to the 19th centuries. The second part of the course will focus on 20th century decolonization, 20th and 21st century immigration patterns in France, and current social, economic and political issues which relate directly to France's colonial history.
