This class is designed for students with no prior study of French and those who, despite having studied the grammatical basics, have never had the ability to express themselves orally.

The objective is the introduce students to the learning of the French language.

Goals and aims: Written and oral expression and comprehension.

The class will teach the student the grammatical, lexical, and spelling understandings necessary for her/him to have competency in written and oral communication.

This will be accomplished by a functional and communicative approach to the learning of the French language. Laboratory excercises will complete this teaching.

Original Language Description

Ce cours est destiné aux étudiants n'ayant aucune connaissance du français (vrais débutants) et à ceux qui, malgré une étude scolaire des bases grammaticales, n'ont jamais eu la possibilité de s'exprimer oralement.

Son objectif est d'introduire globalement l'apprenant à la langue française.

Compétences visées: productions et compréhensions écrites et orales.

Ce cours apportera à l'étudiant des connaissance grammaticales, lexicales et orthoépiques nécessaires pour le doter d'une compétence de communication écrite et orale.

Cela se fera par une approche fonctionnelle et communcative de l'apprentissage du français. Des exercices au laboratoire compléteront cet enseignement.
