Full DescriptionThis course aims to familiarize students with the French Constitution and the 5th Republic through these subdivisions: Introduction: This course is partly devoted to the circumstances which brought about the return of power to General de Gaul; and partly to the procedure followed for the composition of the constitution; and finally the judicial principles that are the foundation of current French institutions. Chapter 1- The President of the Republic Section 1: The Presidential elections Section 2: The nomination of the President of the Republic Chapter 2- The Prime Minister and the Government Section 1: The nomination and the power of the government Section 2: The relationships between the government and Parliament Chapter 3: The Parliament and the controlling bodies Section 1: The election and the respective roles of the two chambers of ParliamentSection 2: The Constitutional Council and its powers Theoretic instruction is completed by:-Documents distributed by the professor-The use of specialized manuals found in the Institut Library-Watching videos and documentaries relative to the Constitution and the history of the 5th Republic The students, for personal work, can present on the institutions of their countries, helping their classmates better understand the Constitutions and countries from which other students are from.
Original Language DescriptionCe cours a pour but de faire connaître aux étudiants la Constitution française de la Ve République, et se subdivise ainsi: Introduction : Elle est consacrée d’une part aux circonstances qui ont amené le retour au pouvoir du Général de Gaulle ; d’autre part à la procédure suivie pour la rédaction de la Constitution ; enfin, aux grands principes juridiques qui sont au fondement des institutions françaises actuelles. Les étudiants, dans le cadre d’un travail personnel, peuvent présenter un exposé sur les institutions de leur pays, aidant ainsi leurs condisciples à mieux connaître les Constitutions des diffeacute; états dont ils sont originaires.
