About Florence: In the heart of Tuscany, Florence is 80 kilometers inland from the Mediterranean sea. Situated on the banks of the Arno River, and surrounded by hills of rolling Italian countryside, Florence basks in its warm, sunny Mediterranean climate. Best known for its historical and cultural riches, Florence is a world cultural center and was home to the Renaissance, boasting a legendary cuisine, fine wines, and beautiful scenery with spectacular palaces, villas, and castles. Here you will share footprints with Cicero, Dante, Petrarch, Galileo, Fermi, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael.

About the Institute at Palazzo Rucellai: The Institute at Palazzo Rucellai offers a study abroad program rooted in the American liberal arts tradition. Located on two floors of the historic Palazzo Rucellai, the Institute has large, ornately decorated classrooms, a library, computer lab, and fine arts rooms. The Institute offers accredited academic year, semester, and summer programs.

About the Santa Reparata: The Santa Reparata is a private art school located in a historic 19th century building whose garden was once a part of the first art academy in Italy founded by Lorenzo de Medici, and whose students included the young Michelangelo. Santa Reparata provides accredited academic-year and semester programs, short workshops, and summer classes of the highest caliber.

Eligibility

  • Be at least 18 years of age by program start date.
  • Have graduated from high school.
  • For Palazzo Rucellai, have a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale and completed a minimum of one year of college coursework.
  • For Santa Reparata, have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
