Course Description

An advanced intermediate Italian course building on three semesters of previous work. Proficiency-based instruction. A greater depth and range of linguistic skills are pursued through introduction of advanced grammar topics and conversational practice. Emphasis is placed on achievement of fluency in both written and spoken Italian, and on the integration of language and culture through more extensive reading and writing as well as group project assignments. The course explores various aspects of contemporary Italian culture, ranging from TV to music, from magazines to newspapers and literature.

Course descriptions may be subject to occasional minor modifications at the discretion of the instructor.

During orientation at the Institute, students will receive a list of textbooks they are required to purchase. Students should not purchase any texts before orientation.
