The Italian postal system offers two services: Posta Ordinaria (regular) and Posta Prioritaria (priority). Posta Prioritaria offers an accelerated delivery at a higher rate. The main post office for the city of Florence is centrally located near Piazza della Repubblica at Via Pellicceria, 3. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday, 8:30 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. The smaller neighborhood post offices in Florence have morning hours only. Their hours are generally Monday - Friday 8:15 A.M. - 1:30 P.M. and Saturday 8:15 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. All post offices close early the last day of the month.
