Study Abroad in Florence, Italy - About the SchoolThe Santa Reparata International School of ArtThe Santa Reparata International School of Art is an independent non-profit school that provides accredited academic-year and semester studio art programs, short workshops, and summer classes of the highest calibre. The curricula and class schedules are based on the American University model and are taught in English, however our students come from many countries and cultural backgrounds. The school is located in an historic 19th century building whose garden was once a part of the first art academy in Italy founded by Lorenzo de Medici, and whose students included the young Michelangelo. The facilities, particularly in printmaking, photography, and computer imaging are some of the finest to be found in Italy. Moreover, because of the diversity of local and internationally recognized instructors,the courses are exciting and challenging. Students wishing to study at Santa Reparata should have a very strong interest in studio art courses and related academics. Students wishing to transfer credit to their home institutions will receive official transcripts from Maryville University. Maryville University is accredited through The Higher Learning Commission, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Maryville University has an extensive review process for all courses offered at Santa Reparata and provides accreditation for all coursework offered at that institution.
