Selections

Buenos días

Like every day, the components of a family are arranged to confront their dreams and realities. The father faces bumps of his work, the exigencies of the children and their education. The mother, worried about money and the complications of domestic life as well. Through them, the film will show us the power of speech in our daily life.

Al final de la escapada

Michel (Jean Paul Belmondo), a ratero of small account, robs a vehicle and then assassinates a police officer in an absurd event. Enamored with Patricia (Jean Seberg), an American girl, he hopes to receive a debt payment to flee with the girl.

El buscavidas

Behind a wrapper that turns around the world of professional billiards is found a powerful drama that conjugates perfectly and doses as much solitude as autocompassion. Anyone who thinks that billiard is the point of this film must return to see it again.

La noche

The mortal disease of a friend submerges the wife of a writer in a crisis after ten years of marriage. During a reception, both vagan separately between people, giving themselves to games that lead nowhere. The following morning they undertake a desperate attempt to revive the lost love. This accomplishment of Antonioni suggests by means of images the ephemeral reality of the relations.

Chungking Express

An English title of the fourth long-length film of Kar-Wai, mounted and released in three months, designates a nonexistent space, made up of the first and second word, respectively, of the names of two essential leases in the film: the Chunking Mansions, a strange mixture of shopping, pension and hotel and the Midnight Express, the light premises of food and coffee.
