Full Description

Offered only in the first semester, the Latin-American Art course aims to provide the students of the Centre of Modern Languages with knowledge of the main artistic achievements in America during the colonial period (XVI-XVIII centuries). These should be understood as a projection of the Iberian Peninsular culture on the other side of the Atlantic, but also understood in their own characteristic evolution and originality, which, on occasions, excel the exported models from Europe. The syllabus is focused on the most significant periods and works which show the rich American patrimony and provide a schematic overview of the great Latin-American culture.
