Granada, Spain - Academic Program - Intensive Language and Culture (ISLC)View course descriptions for the Intensive Language and Culture (ISLC) track. The Intensive Spanish Language and Culture Track (ISLC) is geared toward students who want to focus more on studying Spanish culture during the summer. The track is available to students at the Intermediate, Advanced, and Superior levels. If a student does not place at the Intermediate A level or higher, the student will be switched over to the Intensive Language Track. Students in ISLC can choose either two hours of language combined with two specific subjects, or four specific subjects. Each subject meets for two hours. Students can combine two subjects to create a four hour course. Specific subjects include courses on literature, geography, history, civilization and culture, Business Spanish, and art history. Students attend class 4 hours per day, 5 days per week, for a total 80 contact hours per month. This generally transfers to 5 credits in the U.S. semester system. |
