Full DescriptionOBJECTIVES To provide students with a basic knowledge of the organs and systems in different animal groups, how they function, and how they are regulated. To learn that functions in the various animal groups is directed by basic common mechanisms that share the same logic and the same purpose.
COURSE DESCRIPTION Study of the functions of organs and systems in animals from a comparative perspective. Study of the different anatomic and physiologic strategies developed by animals according to the chemical and physical parameters of the environment.

METHODOLOGY Theory classes taught by the professor. Active class participation will be encouraged. There will be lectures given by experts in various fields of the course. EVALUATION Written exam that will account for 70% of the final grade. The reasoning capacity of the student will be highly valued. There will be several written tests throughout the course that will make up 15% of the final grade.
