Full Description

OBJECTIVES

To understand the scope of the fundamental anthropological question in the light of philosophical and theological anthropology. To understand the origin and structure of the question regarding nature and human existence in Western society through the ages: Classical, Medieval, Modern and Contemporary. To understand that the fundamental philosophical questions about God, man and the world articulate all cultural manifestation.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

In the light of great works of universal literature, the course examines the great questions about man, in response to which man, everyman, influences the destiny of his personal existence. From Greek tragedies to existentialists of the 20th Century, considering authors such as Dante, William Shakespeare, Cervantes etc. The authors and works will change according to the criteria set by the course leader and the group’s own interest.

Course notes, literary works and screenplays.

METHODOLOGY

Discussion of selected texts, film material, lectures and exercises in reasoning.
