OBJECTIVES
To know and understand the artistic movements that have occurred from the French Revolution until today.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The student will pursue the following individual objectives:
1. To identify the message that each contemporary artistic movement attempts to transmit.
2. To know the most characteristic features of each artist in relation to the artistic movement to which he or she belongs.
3. To explore the intentions of the artists both in the formal as well as in the symbolic levels.
4. To connect the influence of the historical environment (social, political and economic factors) with the development of artistic movements.
5. To put the most relevant artistic movements in chronological order and relate them to each other.
6. To understand the basis of present-day artistic movements.

EVALUATION
90% exam, with commentary on images and 12 questions. 10% group assignment on contemporary artistic movements.
