Full DescriptionOBJECTIVES
For students to solidify their understanding of the principles and basic tools that enable the development of biotechnology as it is today. To familiarize students with the current applications of biotechnology in the industrial sector, with a special emphasis on the health, food and environmental sectors. COURSE DESCRIPTION Applications of basic research to industry and public health; the benefit to society. The course supplements Biochemical Engineering I. Matter and energy balances. METHODOLOGY The course will be taught through lectures, with the support of computers. Experts will be invited to lecture on a number of areas. EVALUATION A final written exam will make up about 60% of the final grade. There will also be ongoing assessment of class participation and group assignments (40%).
