OBJECTIVES

 

To acquire the basic concepts and procedures of genetics. To develop the ability to solve genetic problems. To develop practical abilities in genetic methodology. To acquire a critical view in line with the scientific method.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

To understand the fundamental principles of genetics and the procedures of the course, genetic analysis techniques and their applications, nature, organization, function and transmission of hereditary qualities; structure, organization and expression of genes and genomes.

METHODOLOGY

Presentation of the theoretical content by the professor. Discussion sessions. Seminars. Practical classes and problem solving. Each year there will be one or two relevant researchers invited to lecture.

EVALUATION

Written exam, accounting for 60% of the grade. Two semester exams will account for the remaining 40%.
