To learn the necessary knowledge to develop an industrial process using microorganisms or enzymes obtained from them.
The course is divided into two units: in the first, the microorganism-industry relationship is analyzed, and the basis of the new microbe and enzymes biotechnology is studied; in the second, students learn about the most relevant applications of microbiology in industry, the classic processes as well as the new biotechnology processes.

Lectures with the support of slides with outlines designed by the professor and schematics from different publications. Field trips to industries where some of the biotechnology studied in class will be seen. Lectures by relevant researchers in microbe biotechnology.
A mandatory final exam will account for 80% of the final grade. Group assignments and semester exams will represent the remaining 20%.
