OBJECTIVEThe purpose of the course is to familiarise students with the various different formats used in TV programs today and how to correctly identify them. How are they created, how they function and how they are launched. Types of production processes.
COURSE DESCRIPTIONThe course analyses programs of all kinds: entertainment, news, educational, religious, extraordinary event, fiction, music, sports and so on. How they function, how they are organized. Examples of videos, scripts, etc. Types of production. Broadcasting procedures. Target public. Counter programming. Program contracting. Practical exercises.

METHODOLOGYClasses will combine theory and practice; participation by students is encouraged. The students will receive scripts from a number of programs currently broadcasted, and analyse them. They will see recordings of a variety of formats and will contribute with their own view as spectators and future professionalsthrough individual and group presentations.
EVALUATIONFinal exam in June, to evaluate the knowledge acquired in class. The analyses of TV programs worked on during the course will be graded. Class attendanceis mandatory.
