Full Description

The lecture will present the basic dimensions of the two educational fields in their historical developments and current characteristics. This will include:

- youth and adulthood
- participants and addressees
- structural principles
- forms of institutionalization
- legal foundations and financial structures
- statistics
- basic areas of action in adult education
- scientific and theoretical approaches to both areas.

The aim of the lecture is to provide a structured overview of the field of adult and out-of-school youth education as well as to demonstrate the selectivity and special perspectives of the presented approaches.

A reader, combining lecture charts, and additional material and texts will be available at the first lecture.
