Full Description

Dr. Martin Kumpf:  Culture, cognition and behavior

  • 2008 Spring Term, seminar, held in English

Content:

In a globalized world, humans still grow up and live in quite diverse cultural environments, and these environments have an impact on how they perceive, feel, and think, and how they construct their personal and social identities. Cross-cultural psychology studies this "cultural relativity" of internal processes and overt behavior. We will extend the perspective to evolutionary influences on the development of cultures and their social functions.
