Aims and Content:

The course in "Decision Making and Production Theory" belongs to the broader field of industrial management, which addresses mainly the management of manufacturing firms. The course covers the following main topics:

- The systemic view in business administration: the firm as a productive system
- The stakeholder management perspective
- The firm and management challenges over the industry life cycle
- Introduction to models of planning and decision making
- Introduction to production and cost theory.

The course imparts a broad introduction into the theory of managerial decision making and production. The students should learn to understand, to use, to criticize and to enhance the main instruments and solution-concepts, which are generally adopted in the central topics of the subject area.
