Aims and Content:

The 18th century is generally seen as the period of "The Rise of the Novel". A thorough study and, I hope, lively discussion of several novels from this century will be complemented by presentations on the historical, theoretical and literary context of these works. Innovative approaches (presentations etc.) are more than welcome.
