This course gives a panoramic view of the main structures and developments in international relations.

Full Description

This course gives a panoramic view of the main structures and developments in international relations. It introduces in basic concepts and competing analytical perspectives. The course will also deal with structures of international governance and cooperation (in context of the East-West-Relations, North-South-Relations and Globalization) and with the role of international actors and organizations (UNO, OSCE, NATO). Additionally current questions and problems of the discipline will be discussed: e.g. military conflicts, poverty, underdevelopment and ecological destruction.

Lecture in German, tutorials in English.
