Full Description

The course provides an overview of the most important aspects of investment and finance. The students are expected to build decision-making competency in the fields of investment and finance. Students will be taught to appropriately recognize the potential and the limitations of the discussed methods and to appropriately implement them. The course will cover:

  1. Static and Dynamic Methods of Investment Appraisal
  2. Investment Program Decisions
  3. Determining the Optimal Substitute Qualifying Period
  4. Effects of Earnings Taxation on Investment Appraisal
  5. Investment Appraisal under Uncertainty
  6. Equity- and Debt-Financing(including Leasing and Factoring)
  7. Questions on Capital Structure

Lecture in German, tutorials in English.
