Full DescriptionThe lecture covers the main features of the law of international organisations, especially the law of the United Nations. After an introductory part dealing with the definition and relevance of international organisations, the different versions like supranational communities, state con-federations, or international communities are looked upon and defined against conjunctions of other kinds. History and entities of international organisations and their founding process, organisation and breakup are also examined, as well as the relations to other organisations. A closer look will be put on their organs and the influences the members have, how they can participate and bring in their ideas, what they pay and what privileges and immunities they can have in this framework. A special emphasis will be put on organisations of cooperation and peace safeguarding, their aims and basic principles and possibilities. Examples are the UN Security Council, the International Court, UNCTAD, ILO, WHO, AU, NATO, OSCE, EU or World Bank.
