Legal pluralism refers to a social situation in which two or more legal conceptions may be relevant. In the seminar social action in the legal arena will be discussed with ethnographic examples and theoretical analysis. One main question will be: Is law a stable frame of reference for all or rather a resource to justify individual claims by persons in a position of power?
