Full Description

Aims and Content:

The aim of this class is to familiarise students with key texts and literary phenomena of Modernism and Postmodernism. We will start with soldier poems written during the First World War and then proceed to central works of Modernism such as T.S. Eliot`s The Waste Land. Finally, we will turn to Postmodern poetry not only from Great Britain but also from other countries of the Anglophone world, discussing its characteristics as well as its relationships to Modernism and Postcolonialism.
