This course will consider the cell phone from the standpoint of media history as well as its implication in contemporary media convergence. Moreover we will examine and discuss multiple facets of mobile culture such as the diffusion of mobile media in the world, its role in everyday life, the mobile telephone as a product, youth culture and mobile technology.

Part of the conceptual framework will be a special workshop on Sunday afternoon, May 4.
