Full Description

The class will be blended, i.e. students will study online on the E-Learning platform VCT: The Virtual Center for Teacher training (http://vct.online.uni-marburg.de) and deepen their understanding of the topics discussed in the virtual sessions through various activities during in-class sessions with the instructor.

Content:

Presenting content in an understandable way to fellow students or colleagues is one of the most important skills that a student or applicant can have. This is why good knowledge about how to structure content and present it with visual and acoustic aids is vital. Because the new media facilitates the use of such elements, we will be working with presentation software in the first part of the course. Websites can also be used to present content to others - this constitutes the second part of the course. The (self-)evaluation of presentations will also play an important role. Students will learn about structuring content, preparing presentations and setting up websites. This course is open to anyone interested in the subject as well.
Throughout the class students will use computers to work on the topics discussed and give little presentations in order to put into practice what has been learnt in the sessions.

Class Requirements:

The credits will be awarded as follows:

  • 5 out of 12 worksheets (40%)
  • two projects (30% each)
