The class will be blended, i.e. students will study online on the world’s largest E-Learning platform in linguistics: The Virtual Linguistics Campus (www.linguistics-online.com) and deepen their understanding of the topics discussed in the virtual sessions and in the workbook through various activities during fortnightly in-class sessions with the instructor. ContentThis class is intended to familiarize students with the main structural properties of English grammar.  It starts with a review of linguistic approaches to grammar and offers students the opportunity to practice analyzing examples from English. In addition to this, some selected problems such as word-class-definition or clause-connectivity will be investigated in detail. Class RequirementsThe credits will be awarded as follows:• In-class exam (80%)

• 5 out of 12 worksheets (20%)
