Klaas Kunst, Marburg Resident Director

A graduate of the University of Marburg, Klaas is currently working on his doctoral dissertation. In addition to his role as the Abroadco Marburg Resident Director, Klaas teaches political science courses and helps with the academic coordination of the IUSP program. He is the Erasmus Coordinator for the Faculty of Social Sciences and Philosophy.

Klaas studied abroad in South Africa for a year, taking courses at the Universities of Stellenbosch and Cape Town. He has taught courses at Philipps-University, both in German and in English. He has held leadership roles in both the International Association for Political Science Students and the German Political Science Students Association. In 2007, he published Africa – Continent of Crises, Conflicts and Wars.

Klaas wants students to take full advantage of what Marburg has to offer. "The cozy athmosphere makes it easy to get in contact with Germans. This will help also to grasp the German culture and get to know the people better, the Marburg students and inhabitants are very open and friendly. Marburg is located in central Germany which makes it ideal for day trips or short vacations to Germany and Europe. Also it has a long and interesting history in the city and in the immediate surroundings. With its many possibilities I am sure to have a good time with the Abroadco students."
