The Marburg summer program is offered as part of the Hessen International Summer University. In this 4-week program, students take one German language courses and two seminars in politics, economics, or culture. The German language course meets for 36 contact hours or 2-3 semester credits. Each seminar meets for 18 contact hours, or 1 semester credit each. An additional seminar may be added for a supplemental fee. Courses are taught either in English or in German. German language classes are taught at the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. The summer program courses adhere to a theme. For 2008, the theme is "Has Europe learned from history? Cultural, political, and economic perspectives of a uniting continent."
