In this course, students will gain a comprehensive introduction to major figures in French literature, with a particular emphasis on poetry, plays and short stories from the 19th and 20th centuries. Through close readings of works by Sartre, Camus, Cocteau and Baudelaire, students will develop a greater appreciation for important writers and literary movements.
