French Language

All students take a French language course in the morning, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The course, taught at each level, is broken into three categories: oral and written comprehension, grammar and vocabulary, along with oral and written production. Students in the lower levels will focus on the comprehension of simple statements, mastering phrases on both the oral and written levels. Students in the advanced levels will focus more closely on oral comprehension and expression. The French language course meets for a total of 46 contact hours, which general translates to 3 semester credits.

Electives

Each student also enrolls in 2 electives, which meet in the afternoons on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The list of available subjects is made available to the student at the beginning of their session. Sample courses in the past include French Cinema, Written Production, Oral Expression, Business French, and Media Studies. Each elective meets for a total of 12 contact hours, which generally translates to 1 credit each in the US semester system.
