Monaco and Monte Carlo

A trip to the wealthy principality is a must when you visit the French Riviera. Tour the palace (if Prince Albert is not in residence) and the Monaco Cathedral. The Oceanographic Museum in Monte Carlo was founded by Jacques Cousteau and features a 90-tank aquarium featuring Mediterranean and tropical sea life. Additional attractions include the national museum, the lovely public gardens, and the private collection of antique cars of Prince Ranier III. And don’t forget to take a peek inside the famous Monte Carlo Casino!

Grand Canyon du Verdon

Europe’s widest and deepest gorge, the Grand Canyon du Verdon offers visitors a different view of southern France. An outdoor adventure sport paradise, the area offers water sports on the Verdon River, hiking, horseback riding, and rock climbing.

Antibes and Biot

Focus on art! Spend the morning at the renowned Picasso Museum in Antibes and then head to see pottery and glassworks at Biot. There’s more to the Riviera than sand!

Corsica

Although best known as the birthplace of Napoleon, Corsica is a land of beautiful beaches and rugged inland landscapes. A culture unto itself, many Corsicans still speak Corsu (their native language) as well as French. Explore a coastal town before going inland to explore Corsica’s mountainous interior and historic past.
