The city and the University offer an exciting environment with more than ample resources for research and learning. Oxford University has always provided a vibrant cultural, social, and intellectual atmosphere and is a favorite of many world renowned brilliant scholars. Instruction at Oxford is done in a highly individualized manner (one-to-one instruction) which is at the core of the Oxford educational experience. OrientationA four day mandatory orientation is conducted upon arrival. During orientation students are interviewed by their academic adviser, introduced to their tutors, and begin to join college teams and societies. The orientation covers all the essentials and includes an introduction to Oxford, Britain, and the British (and Oxford) University systems. College MembershipAs associate members of an Oxford College and its JCR (the undergraduate body of the college), students have access to the college library and dining hall. Access to the main library is also included. Students may participate in college sports and in the more than 300 clubs and societies for which Oxford is famous. All participants automatically become a member of the Oxford Union Society, arguably Britain’s foremost debating club. Students can attend weekly lectures and debates often lead by eminent politicians and other prominent figures from all over the world. |
