Introduces the mathematical foundation of quantitative problem solving in economics, business, and the other social sciences. Combines discussions on theory with computer-assisted explanations of the concepts introduced. Gives students an appreciation of the strengths and limitations of mathematical model building. Topics include: functions, graphs and charts, linear programming, sensitivity analysis, financial mathematics, set theory and probability.
