This course is designed to help students learn both linguistic and cultural differences by translating French prose into English and English prose to French (specific themes to be chosen according to students' interests). Emphasis will be placed on the acquisition of vocabulary, grammatical forms and usages, and sentence structures. The notion of styles of discourses and the study of the principles and problems of translating skills will be introduced.
