Uses predefined classes and class libraries to introduce standard data structures (stacks, queues, sets, graphs, etc.). Studies and implements algorithms for string searching, finitestate automata, compression, etc. Makes comparisons with other languages, and introduces the use of formal grammars to describe programming languages.
