Full Description

Objectives

  • Discover the artistic richness of Paris in its historical dimension through the monuments, paintings, and sculptures of all eras. 
  • Understand the urban ensembles, Parisian buildings, and works of art by placing them in Parisian and French history and in political, religious and socio-cultural context of their time.

Program

From antiquity to the end of the 19th Century, across a selection of prestigious monuments and artistic masterpieces from all eras, we will cover the main stages of Parisian history chronologically. We will discover the major events and significant people who made French history. We will also look at the artists who created the works of art, paintings, sculptures, and stories of the past that are now immortalized by their genius.

Objectifs

• Découvrir la richesse artistique de Paris dans sa dimension historique à travers un choix de monuments, peintures et sculptures de toutes les époques.
• Comprendre les ensembles urbains, édifices parisiens, et œuvres d'art en les situant dans l'histoire de la capitale et l'histoire de France et dans le contexte politique, religieux et socio-culturel de leur temps.

Programme

De l'antiquité à la fin du XIXe siècle, à travers un choix de monuments prestigieux et de chefs-d'œuvre de l'art de toutes les époques, nous vous proposons de parcourir chronologiquement les grandes étapes de l'histoire de Paris. Nous découvrirons ainsi les grands événements et personnages, qui on fait l'histoire de la France, les artistes qui ont crée pour leurs contemporains, et pour nous, les œuvres d'art, peintures et sculptures, témoignages de ce passé désormais immortalisé par leur génie.

Evaluation Pédagogique

3 notes : 1 dossier, 1 contrôle final + une note de devoirs, participation et assiduité
