Examines the literary works of the Renaissance and Classical eras, and their relation to their eras. Students gain a wide understanding of the eras by studying novels, essays, and poetry. 16th century themes are presented in the works of Montaigne and Rabelais, and 17th century themes are presented in the works of Bossuet, Molière, Pascal, and Racine.
