Full Description

Objectives
1st semester
-Study the logistics of speech in authentic argumentative texts
-Learn to summarize and comment on a text
-Construct an argumentative text
2nd semester
-Identify the different types of argumentation in a speech
-Work on the progressive in a dissertation
-Oral presentations

In class, students will work in groups to analyze and identify argumentation. Students will also do oral presentations
Take home work will consist of weekly homework.
1st semester: summary/commentary/exercises in re-writing
2nd semester: summary/commentary and dissertations

Grading
Weekly homework grades (60%)
Participation (10%)
Oral presentation (30%)
