Full Description

Objectives
1st semester:

  • Study the logistics of speech in authentic argumentative texts
  • Learn to summarize and comment on a text
  • Construct an argumentative text
2nd semester:
  • Identify the different types of argumentation in a speech
  • Work on the progressive in a dissertation
  • Oral presentations

Activities:

  • In class, students will work in groups to analyze and identify argumentation. Students will also do oral presentations
  • Take home work will consist of weekly homework.
1st semester: summaries, commentaries, and exercises in re-writing
2nd semester: summaries, commentaries and dissertations

Grading
Weekly homework grades (60%)
Participation (10%)
Oral presentation (30%)
