All students will take a French language course and a phonetics class.

Beginner Electives

Students who test into the beginner language level may also enroll in up to two elective courses each semester. Beginner electives are taught only in French. Each class meets for 2 hours/week for a total of 24 contact hours/semester. This generally transfers to 2 credits in the US semester system. The following electives have been offered in the past by the Sorbonne. However, the electives offered during your time abroad may differ.

The Sorbonne offers a wide range of advanced electives. Students in the advanced level may take up to two courses, which will appear on their transcripts. Students in the beginner and intermediate levels may also attend, but will not receive credit.
