Press Releases - Spend a Semester in Medieval Germany

Released: Thursday, December 01, 2005

Walled towns, castles, fairy tales, steep winding streets, and more. Spend a semester in the lovely medieval city of Marburg, Germany studying language, humanities and social sciences. Abroadco is pleased to announce the launch of our new semester and academic year program at the Phillips-University Marburg.

You will enroll in the International University Study Program (IUSP) that offers students the opportunity to enroll in an intensive German course, along with additional classes taught in English and German. You will live in a university residence hall, with full access to all university facilities and services.

Marburg is the quintessential German town—old half-timbered buildings mix with gothic and renaissance architecture. The old town, built at the top of the hill, is crowned by Landgrave Castle. A university town, the Brothers Grimm studied law there before starting to collect and write their fairy tales.

Only 60 miles north of Frankfurt, Marburg offers students the best of all worlds. Live in a quaint, picturesque university town while being close to a major international airport. Take the train to visit Berlin—it’s less than three and a half hours away.
