Objectives

By studying how France was formed by its geography and its history, we will try to understand contemporary France

• The Roman domination and the history of the vine : le Languedoc-Roussillon/la Provence
  
• Roman art and the extension of Christianity : Poitou-Charentes
  
• Gothic art and the creation of large economic centers : the exhibitions of Reims and Troyes
  
• The Renaissance and the edges of the Loire
  
• The centralization of royal power and Versailles
  
• Revolutionary ideas and the creation of states
  
• The industrial revolution and the exploitation of lead : le Nord/la Lorraine
  
• Contemporary France and regionalization : l'Ile de France

Original Language Description

 Objectifs 

• Pratiquer la langue française en s’exprimant sur une œuvre d’art, au musée ou en cours.
  
• Apprendre a regarder, analyser, comprendre une œuvre : composition, techniques picturales
  
• Identifier et savoir lire les sujets représentés en recherchant leur signification par rapport a l’époque
  
• Acquérir les bases nécessaires pour savoir décrire et commenter une œuvre d’art (vocabulaire, outils d’analyse, repérés historiques, grands courants stylistiques).
  
• Connaître les grandes œuvres de référence et les grands artistes français

Ce cours s’organise selon deux orientations

• Les genres picturaux et les grands thèmes de l’art
  
• Parcours de l’histoire de l’art en France : les artistes et leurs œuvres majeures.
