Introduces key figures of French thought through a survey of major texts, from the Renaissance to the first part of the Twentieth Century. Enables the students to consolidate their sense of historic, philosophical, and literary chronology and better understand how literary and philosophical movements are inscribed in the broader History of the Emancipation of Humankind: a religious, political and social emancipation. Taught in French. Simultaneous registration in a 3OO level French Language course recommended if written French not adequate.
