Focuses on late 19th century events from the beginning of typographical exploration, to the disruptions of Modernism, to contemporary investigations of relationships between literary language and visual form. Studies works from fin-de-siècle Symbolist poetry to the violent literary and artistic products of the First World War and beyond, including Woolf, Potter, Proust, Pasolini, Apollinaire, Ashberry, W. C. Williams, and Godard.
